Kyle Stoutenberg
San Francisco-based creative
My name is Kyle Stoutenberg and I’m a San Francisco based cinematographer, photographer, and colorist with 10+ years of experience working in the commercial/corporate video and photo industries. I’ve worked on hundreds of projects in the form of branded mini documentaries, television commercials, social media content, highlight videos, and much more. I’m a creative problem solver who thrives on finding the right visual approach to bring ideas to life, and I’m passionate about crafting cinematic imagery that helps brands connect with their audience in a meaningful way. Whether it’s a project you have in the Bay Area or something that requires traveling across the country for, I’m your guy.
HELLO THERE!
While I started my professional photography business in 2015, I quickly found out that clients and businesses were asking for video services just as often (and sometimes more often) than photography services. I quickly started exploring all aspects of the video world, learning how to edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro and how to transfer my knowledge of photography techniques into cinematography skills. I sharpened my cinematography skills with an investment into more video-focused equipment that would help me better establish myself as both a cinematographer and photographer. The college classes I was taking at the time combined with the thousands of hours I put into learning from others on YouTube helped me establish a solid technical base, but starting my business helped me learn about communication, finances, time management, and much more than just technical camera skills. Since 2015, I’ve worked on hundreds of projects that have helped me create a mental catalog of examples I can reference when faced with creative problems that need creative solutions.

I started my journey into photography back in 2011 with a with a cheap point & shoot digital camera from Kodak where I fell in love with capturing daily life and things I had interest in. Fast forward 4 years, I received a Canon T6i I as a gift which would end up helping to start my photography business. Since 2015, I’ve been able to photograph a wide range of projects where I developed an eye for translating the creative ideas I could see in my head, to the photographs I’d share with clients.
